Serving Size: 3-4 persons

 

 

Ingredients:

Tengra  - 400 g

Onion - 1 medium, chopped

Green Chillies - 4-5, slit

Coriander leaves/Cilantro/Dhonepata - 2 tbsp, chopped

Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

Salt - To taste

White Oil - 2 tbsp

Mustard Oil - 2 tbsp; Mustard Oil is optional and may be substituted with white oil

 

Preparation:

  1. Rub fish with 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1 tsp white oil.

  2. Make a paste of turmeric and chilli powder in  4 tbsp water.

                       

Cooking procedure:

  1. In a kadhai, heat white oil and mustard oil.

  2. Add chopped onions and fry for 2-3 min till onions turn soft.

  3. Add fish and fry for 3 min turning only occasionally so that the fish don't break.

  4. Add turmeric and chilli paste and fry on medium heat for 2-3 min or till oil separates.

  5. Add 1 cup water and bring to boil. Add salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.

  6. Add  green chillies, and chopped cilantro.

  7. Cook for 1 more minute and remove from heat.

 

Serving Suggestion:

  • Serve  with rice.
