Serving: 2-3 persons

Ingredients:

Gaanthi Kochu - 200 g

Maida or Rice flour - 1 cup

Green chillies - 2, chopped

Coconut - 2 tsp, grated

Sugar - 1 tsp

Salt - To taste

White Oil - 1 cup (required for deep frying)

                    

              

 

 

Preparation:

  1. De-skin kochu and crush the vegetable. Do not use any water

  2. Add all ingredients except oil to the crushed vegetable.

Cooking procedure:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Make sure the oil is very hot.

  2. Take a spoonful of the mix and using your hands flatten it into cakes of about 1 inch diameter. Add to oil.

  3. Fry till golden brown and remove on to a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with rice and masoor dal. A delicacy indeed.
