(Deep Fried Cilantro leaves)

Serving: 2-3 persons (Makes about 12 fries)

Ingredients:

Dhonepata/Cilantro - 2 cups coarsely chopped

Green Chillies - 2, chopped

Maida  - 3 tsp

Posto (Poppy seeds) - 1 tsp

Salt - To taste

White Oil - 1 cup since it requires deep frying

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preparation:

  1. Wash dhonepata or cilantro just before chopping.

  2. Add remaining ingredients (except oil) to the chopped cilantro. Note: If required add 1 tsp water at a time. Keep in mind very little water is needed. Prepare this mix just before frying.

Cooking procedure:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Make sure the oil is very hot. However, turn the heat to medium low before adding the cilantro leaf mix.

  2. Take a spoonful of the mix, and add to oil.

  3. Fry till golden brown and remove on to a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with rice and masoor dal. Very crunchy and delicious side item for a good lunch menu.
