Serving: 2-3 persons

Ingredients:

Paat Pata - each entity is comprised of 4-5 leaves from the branch tip - 10 or 12 entities

Maida or Besan - 1 cup

Posto (Poppy seeds) - 1 tsp

Kalonji seeds - 1/2 tsp

Baking soda - 1/4th tsp

Salt - To taste

White Oil - about 2 cups since it requires deep frying

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preparation:

  1. Batter : Add 1/2 cup water to 1 cup maida and make a homogenous mix. To it add poppy seeds and baking soda and salt to taste.

Cooking procedure:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai. Make sure the oil is very hot.

  2. Dip the leaf bunch in the batter and add to the oil

  3. Fry till golden brown and remove on to a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Serving:

Serve with rice and masoor dal. An extremely delicious side item for a good lunch menu.
