Ingredients:
Moong Dal - 1 cup
Jeera/Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Turmeric/Haldi - 1/4 tsp
Dry Red Chillies - 2, whole
Coconut - 2 tbsp, cut into thin small slices
Ginger - 1 inch, paste
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt - To taste
Ghee - 2 tbsp
White Oil - 1 tbsp

Cooking procedure:

In a
frying pan, dry roast the dal for 2-3 min on low heat till the grains
just start to brown.

Add
water to dal, turmeric, salt and let boil.

Cook until the dal is cooked, remove and
keep aside.
Spice the Dal

Heat 2
tbsp ghee, to it add whole cumin seeds, whole chillies and coconut
pieces.

Fry the
spices for about 30-60 sec until the the seeds start spluttering and
coconut starts to brown.

Add
cooked dal to the spices.

Dilute
ginger paste in 1 tbsp water and add to dal.

Bring
the mix to boil on low-medium heat.

Just
before removing add 1 tsp of ghee and sugar.
Serving Suggestions:
This dish is served hot with rice and an
accompaniment of fries.
