Masoor Dal with Methi seeds

Ingredients:

Masoor Dal - 1 cup

Methi seeds/Fenugreek seeds - 3/4 tsp

Dry Red Chilly - 2, halved

Green Chillies - 4

Salt - To taste

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Ghee - 1 tsp

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cooking procedure:

  1. Boil dal in 4 cups water with turmeric and salt until cooked. Consistency of the dal should be thin. Remove from heat and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, to it add dry red chillies, and  methi seeds.

  3. Let seeds turn brown. Add cooked dal and bring to boil.

  4. Add green chillies and simmer for 3 min. Remove from heat.

 

Serving Suggestions:

This lentil is served with steamed rice along with fish fry, or any dry vegetable on the side.
