Masoor Dal with Onion and Garlic

Ingredients:

Masoor Dal - 1 cup

Onion - 1 small, sliced

Garlic - 2 cloves, chopped

Dry Red Chilly - 2, halved

Green Chillies - 4, slit

Salt - To taste

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Ghee - 1 tbsp

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cooking procedure:

  1. Boil dal in 3 cups water with turmeric and salt until cooked. Consistency should be thick. Remove from heat and keep aside.

  2. Heat oil in a pan, to it add dry red chillies, onion, and garlic.

  3. Fry till onions turn brown.

  4. Add cooked dal and bring to boil.

  5. Add green chillies and simmer for 3 min. Remove from heat.

 

Serving Suggestions:

This lentil is best served with roti/chapati.
