Ingredients:

This is a item that is tasty and is simply made from vegetable skin of lauki which is usually discarded.

Lau/Lauki/Bottle Gourd skin - 2 cup finely sliced

Onion - 1 medium, sliced

Dry Red Chillies - 2

Green Chillies - 2, slit

Salt - To taste

White Oil - about 4 tbsp

 

            

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Preparation procedure:

  1. Add sliced bottle gourd skin to boiling water and let boil till soft (about 20 mon on stove top) .

  2. Drain the water (the water needs to be squeezed out) and keep aside.

Cooking procedure:

  1. Heat oil in a kadai.

  2. Add sliced onions and fry till brown and soft. Remove and keep aside

  3. To the same oil add dry chillies. Then add boiled vegetable skin and fry on medium heat for 5 min.

  4. Then add salt and fry for an additional 5 min until cooked.

  5. Add fried onions to the vegetable and mix well. Cook for 1 min and remove from heat.

                    

 

Serving Suggestions:

Serve with hot rice and dal.
