Ingredients:

 

Serving Size: 2-3 persons

          

Posto/Poppy seeds - 1/4 cup

Onion - 1 tsp chopped

Green Chillies - 2-3 whole and 1 chopped

Salt - To taste

Mustard Oil - 1/2 tsp or Ghee - 1/2 tsp

 

 

 

              

              

 

Preparation:

  1. For processing the poppy seeds/posto (especially in the US) - soak in 1/4 cup water for at least 6 hours. The more time for soaking, easier is the grinding.

  2. Grind as a tight paste with as little water as possible, salt and green chillies. Traditionally posto is ground in a sheel nora in India.

  3. Add chopped onion, green chilly, and mustard oil or ghee.

Serving:

  • Serve hot with rice as a starter. A must for posto fanatics.
